Summery: He doesn't want to be alone. That is why you're with him.
It doesn’t hit you as hard at first because you tell yourself that you’re expecting it. You knew there was another before you and so it makes sense that there were others before her. He doesn’t like to travel alone and when you first learn that you brush it aside and don’t think. It isn’t until later when you’re back at home and he is moving on that you realise there’s nothing special about you. He picked you so he wouldn’t be alone, not because you had anything to offer. You’re one in a long line of those left behind.
