The lesser beings they shape see them as diametrically opposed opposites, which is true, and bitter enemies, which is false. What they are cannot be described by such a singular word.
They lock horns for the soul of all creation. They each revel when they taste victory over the other. They choose champions to fight and win and lose in their stead and each will bend in his turn, but neither can ever break.
Opposites but equal, they coexist to balance each other. They are joined and conjoined. White and Black. They are Guardians together, and together they guard all.
