Stay busy. That was the secret; that was always the secret. If you stayed busy, there wasn't time to brood about loves lost, family lost, friends lost, lives lost. There wasn't time to feel sad, or lonely.
And you had to admit - the whole of time and space was a hell of a distraction.
There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea is asleep and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea is getting cold.
Never look back.
