Note: I do not own these characters. (Not even sure the BBC does in the greater scheme of things.)

The lesser beings they shape see them as diametrically opposed opposites, which is true, and bitter enemies, which is false. What they are cannot be described by such a singular word.

They lock horns for the soul of all creation. They each revel when they taste victory over the other. They choose champions to fight and win and lose in their stead and each will bend in his turn, but neither can ever break.

Opposites but equal, they coexist to balance each other. They are joined and conjoined. White and Black. They are Guardians together, and together they guard all.

Perfect description of them. White does not always win, but neither does black. They balance each other out, like the two sides of a s scale, and in doing so, keep the Universe in balance.
