Soldier (Prompt 425: ceremony)
18 November 2012 01:42 pmTitle: Soldier
Author: Evilawyer
Characters: Henry VIII, Ninth Doctor
Rating: G
For the prompt ceremony.
“No ceremony, my good Doctor,” King Henry boisterously cries as the Doctor bows low.
Funny how he should be so ready to bend his knee for this human. He'd never been so inclined for anyone at home, for all its pageantry. But Henry is ready to rule, to be the one to make the decisions and take the action. He won't, the Doctor thinks, lay the responsibility at his subjects' feet.
“Arise, my leather-clad sir, and put your joints to better use. Be my champion and lay waste to my enemies.”
“No, thanks,” he answers. “I've already been a soldier.”
