“Don’t worry on my account,” huffed the Doctor. “I shall be quite all right alone.”
Evelyn smiled “I know you will, Doctor, I wasn’t worried in the slightest.”
The Doctor was unsure whether to be pleased or annoyed; the resulting expression was quite comical. Evelyn swallowed a laugh.
“And you’re sure you won’t need any help?” he persisted, trying to sound casual, but every syllable leaking his urge to find out exactly what went on behind those doors.
“No, thank you, Doctor” said Evelyn, decisively, and strode into Rigby and Peller with nary a backward glance at the crestfallen timelord.
